Kamoliddin Urinbaev Conductor
Uzbekistan
A conductor of striking versatility and conviction, Kamoliddin Urinbaev has established himself as one of the leading figures in the musical life of Uzbekistan and beyond. His artistry combines the discipline of rigorous academic training with a natural flair for communication on the concert platform.
Educated at the Glière Academic Lyceum of Music and later at the State Conservatory of Uzbekistan, he went on to complete both Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees before pursuing advanced studies in conducting at the Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatoire under the legendary Gennady Rozhdestvensky, People’s Artist of the USSR.
Urinbaev has appeared with distinguished ensembles including the Russian State Academic Symphony Orchestra, the National Symphony Orchestra of Ukraine, the Bolshoi Symphony Orchestra, the Ippolitov-Ivanov Symphony Orchestra, the Brandenburg Symphony Orchestra, and the National Symphony Orchestra of Uzbekistan. At the Bolshoi Theatre, he has conducted acclaimed productions of Alisher Navoi and Beethoven’s Fidelio. His interpretations are noted for their clarity of structure, stylistic refinement, and emotional immediacy.
Throughout his career, he has been recognised at major international competitions and festivals, among them the South Korean Great Silk Road competition, Russia’s New Names and Spivakov Invites television projects, and the Kremlin Stars Festival of the CIS countries, where he was named a laureate. His artistic development was further shaped by early distinctions, including a First Prize at the Asia-Pacific International Competition and awards at festivals in Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan.
In 2014, Urinbaev founded the Youth Symphony Orchestra of Uzbekistan, an ensemble created to nurture the next generation of musicians. Under his direction, the orchestra quickly became a cultural flagship, launching officially in 2015 under the auspices of the Kamolot youth movement. In 2020, by decree of the Head of State, the orchestra was placed under the Ministry of Culture, where it continues to thrive under his leadership.
